Important Dates for
West End United Methodist Church

August 5, 1945 - Ground Breaking.
August 8, 1945 - Temporary church erected in one day.
November 2, 1947 - First Sunday School in basement of new church.
March 28, 1948 - First worship service in new church sanctuary.
July 4, 1948- Corner Stone laying.
Augsut 2,1953- On Eighteenth birthday - balance of money was raised
to pay off the original note (see picture on display board).
January 17, 1954-Dedication of new church by Bishop Roy H. Short.
May 30, 1955- West End beame a station church - Rev. W. O. Webster was pastor.
August 6, 1961- Dedication of new parsonage by Frank Settle, District Superintendent.
April 18, 1965- Groundbreaking for new educational building.
February 6, 1966- A service of consecration for new educational
building by Bishop H. Ellis Finger, Jr.
October 1967- Church Steeple presented by fellowship class.
October 1974- Stained glass windows were presented by different church families.
December 3, 1981- New vestibule and front porch ready for use.
